Overview/About

The SHD Journal of Practices is an academic, double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes theoretical and empirical scholarships in the areas of humanities i.e. Anthropology, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Fashion Studies, Fine Arts, Geography, History, Human Rights, and Gender Studies, Informatics Practices, Law, Media Studies, Music, Philosophy, Physical Education, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration,  Sociology, and related fields pertaining to knowledge systems. Additionally, the Journal also considers transdisciplinary research based on theoretical, philosophical, and empirical works from other disciplines such as sciences, commerce, management, and literature demonstrating socio-political and civilizational relevance with solution-oriented policy outcomes/suggestions.

The journal encourages research-based works from researchers from different stages of their learning such as schools, colleges, universities, academicians, practicing professionals, and practitioners from multiple spheres are equally encouraged and evaluated with uniform parameters by the editorial team and reviewers.

Aims and Scope:

SHD Journal of Practices fundamentally seeks to encourage scholarships working on solution-oriented perspectives to evolve policy outcomes incorporating emerging human values, ethics, and moral principles impacting day to day lives of beings.

The Journal seeks to publish articles/papers that contribute new theoretical and empirical knowledge systems in all Humanities and transdisciplinary domains. Policy prescriptions are essential and need to be supported by rigorous analysis and balanced appraisal covering global, regional, national, and local insights and perspectives to strengthen global policy significance.

The Journal provides high-quality, double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access infrastructure for not only original scholarly articles but also other types of research such as research notes, review articles book reviews, etc.

Furthermore, significant commentaries from the readers could also be encouraged. Information about the forthcoming important events, conferences, seminars, and symposia could also be a useful addition and informative for the readers.

With this scope, we aim to involve readers from (inter)national agencies, academics, researchers, policy professionals, policymakers and practitioners, local communities, non-governmental organizations, and young learners/students from all levels of their academic stages.

Submissions to The Journal:

The length of the Research Articles should fall within the range of 3000 to 8000 words and be accompanied by an abstract that is no longer than 200 words. The word count for review articles or commentaries should range between 2000 and 3000 words. Book reviews should be approximately 800 to 1000 words. The articles/reviews/commentaries must be written in English (12 Times Roman), and APA manual style should be used for footnotes and references.

Peer Review Policy:

The SHD Journal of Practices is released twice yearly in print and digital formats. All entries are evaluated by editors and reviewed by specialists in the relevant area through a double-blind peer-review process.

Open Access: 

All articles published in the SHD Journal of Practices are published in Open Access under a CC BY license. Users have the right to "read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles".

The journal is owned by the SHD Research Foundation. The Journal is published under a platinum OA arrangement, in that all charges for publishing an OA article in the journal are funded by the SHD Research Foundation. There is no fee charged to the author for publishing papers/articles.

Editorial and Advisory Board:

The journal has a chief editor and two associate editors who are responsible for directing the publication's editorial direction. The editor guarantees that the research published in the journal is authentic and not copied. The journal also has an advisory board comprised of distinguished scholars with expertise in humanities. The editor and advisory boards elect reviewers and supervise the double-blind peer review process, and the editor's verdict is conclusive. The associate editors are responsible for the daily operations of the journal, such as coordinating the review process and managing the journal's website.
